SKYE R. REGAN is an Indigenous-Irish, Toronto-based writer / performer / producer. As an undergraduate alumna of Harvard and a recent Quantic MBA graduate, with additional training in writing and improv from Second City, Skye combines her diverse professional, creative, and lived intersectional experience to create unique properties with strategic elements to engage audiences.
She is honoured to be an alumnus of BIPOC TV & Film’s Writing for Kids’ TV program, the BANFF Spark Accelerator, and selected for the WildBrain Writing Program, the Women in Animation Mentorship Circle on Developing Adult Animation, and thrice selected for the Jeff Sagansky Harvardwood Writing Program. In 2024, Skye is returning to the Banff World Media Festival as one of 25 people selected as Pitch Participants in the Netflix-BANFF Diversity of Voices program and will also be in the inaugural cohort of the Pacific Screenwriting Program’s Indigenous Screenwriting Lab, and the Warner Brothers Access Diverse Showrunner Bootcamp led by Anthony Q. Farrell. Most recently, Skye has worked on Caillou (Peacock / WildBrain), Luna, Chip & Inkie (Peacock / Knowledge Network), Miss Persona (Peacock / Teletoon+), Wordsville (PBS / TVO), Secrets of the Forest (TVO / Fifth Ground), the award-winning series, Gisele’s Mashup Adventures (CBC Kids / CBC Gem / Headspinner), and several development rooms.
As a writer and performer, Skye has enjoyed work in film and television, performing on stages across North America and most recently sharing her experience and insights as a teacher with children ages 3–17 and adults in improv, character work, and on-camera technique. She has also had the pleasure of performing sketch and improv comedy at venues like Second City, Bad Dog, Comedy Bar, The Rivoli, and Theatre Ste. Catherine, for events including Toronto SketchFest, The 24 Hour Improv Marathon, SketchCom,, and Montreal SketchFest, but to date her favourite venue is getting to perform at SickKids.
In addition to this work, Skye has also sat on a number of panels and juries including TIFF Canada's Top Ten Industry Forum, the Youth Media Alliance Conference, ReelAbilities Film Festival, Vancouver Animation School, St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival, Reel 2 Real Film Festival, among many others. She is the founder of Roaming Writers, which serves a global membership of over 850 and also operates as the Toronto Director for Harvardwood, an LA-based 501(c)(3) non-profit developing talent in the arts, media, and entertainment. Most recently, Skye was also elected to the Board of Directors for Women in Film & Television (WIFT+) Toronto.
Today, Skye is excited to be developing a slate of original properties through Play All Day Productions, which is focused on foregrounding underrepresented voices in media and entertainment. Skye is excited to be developing unique IP across several mediums that delights audiences and makes the world a more joyful place for all!
Outside of this work, you can often find Skye discovering and creating new tunes and cartoons, adding to her endless collection of random tidbits and fun facts, or just hanging out with woodland creatures. She's likely to be clutching her trusty Composition notebook and Uni-ball Signo DX 0.38mm pen, writing the next untold story.
